Calvary Christian Academy won the last time they faced the Fairwinds Christian Knights, and things went their way on Thursday too. Calvary Christian Academy took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 47-18 win over the Knights. Calvary Christian Academy pushed the score to 42-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.
Fairwinds Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Gabby Johnson and Natalie Hernandez. Johnson scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks, while Hernandez scored no points. Johnson hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games.
The victory got Calvary Christian Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Fairwinds Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 10-5 record last season and are now at 2-6.
Calvary Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge the at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Salisbury Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 276th in Maryland, while the are ranked 43rd in Delaware). As for Fairwinds Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Flames at 4:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Greenwood Mennonite is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
