The Nature Coast Tech Sharks suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 46-26 loss at the hands of Springstead. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Nature Coast Tech has scored all season.
Nature Coast Tech lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isabella Castillo O, who scored nine points.
Nature Coast Tech struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Springstead racked up 12 assists.
Malanie Francis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Springstead, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 23 rebounds. Francis is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Addy Osborne was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Nature Coast Tech bumped their record down to 7-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Springstead, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nature Coast Tech and Mitchell will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Springstead, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Wiregrass Ranch at 6:30 p.m. Wiregrass Ranch will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
