Lake Lure Classical Academy extended their losing streak to seven on Monday, dropping them down to 1-9. They fell 7-3 to the Community Christian Academy Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raptors of the 16-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.
Hayden Toms made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
As for Community Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.
On Community Christian Academy's side, Landon Norman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Norman also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Community Christian Academy is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Norman was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton Brooks, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Cullen Tignor, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Coming up, Community Christian Academy is taking a road trip to face off against The Master's Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Lure Classical Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' contest: after the Warriors face off against the Lions, they'll take on Lake Lure Classical Academy again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
