The Valley Mills Eagles are on the road again on Friday and play against the Tioga Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Valley Mills had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 29-18 victory over Axtell.
Valley Mills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cason Johnson out in front who picked up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Brady Woodrome did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 147 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Tioga waltzed into Thursday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Hamilton by a score of 30-20.
Tioga's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Hernandez, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Hayden Hilliard was another key contributor, throwing for 128 yards and three touchdowns.
Valley Mills is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Tioga, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
