The Mission Valley Vikings lost against the Council Grove Braves two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Mission Valley took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Council Grove. Mission Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Council Grove to victory were Kolby Rose and Brycen Palmquist. Rose scored nine points along with four steals, while Palmquist scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Palmquist pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Buchman, who scored three points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Mission Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Council Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.
Mission Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Madison on January 30th. Council Grove on the road again on Monday and play against Halstead at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd.
