Springville has won five straight games at home, while Maple Mountain has won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Red Devils will host the Golden Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Springville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Springville is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Timpview just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 13-12.

Kasen Torres led a balanced group of hitters, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Springville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 9-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Tingey, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Maple Mountain made easy work of Salem Hills on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win. Considering the Golden Eagles have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Cy Chrisman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. AJ Thomas was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
Maple Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.
Springville now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Maple Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 22-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Springville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. However, it's not like Maple Mountain struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Springville might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Maple Mountain when the teams last played back in March. Will the Red Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
