The Selinsgrove Seals are taking a road trip to challenge the Danville Ironmen at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Selinsgrove fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Wyoming Valley West on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 4-3.

Griffin Parker put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Declan Abrahims was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-5. Another player making a difference was Jayden Beaver, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Danville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Indians as they made off with a 14-3 win. 14 seems to be a good number for the Ironmen as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Like Selinsgrove, Danville also got a great game from a two-way player: Wyatt Shultz. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Shultz was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Kaleb Stetler looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Garrett Hoffman, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Daniel Walker was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Danville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.
Danville pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average this season. As for Selinsgrove, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything went Selinsgrove's way against Danville in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, as Selinsgrove made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Selinsgrove since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
