Sunray has gone a perfect 6-0 against Boys Ranch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bobcats will head out to challenge the Roughriders at 4:30 p.m. Sunray will be strutting in after a win while Boys Ranch will be coming in after a defeat.
Sunray is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 30-1 margin over White Deer on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Parker Johnson and Daniel Collins were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Johnson struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Collins pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Johnson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Johnson got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Collins went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Gray, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Issac Mendoza, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Sunray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .723. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White Deer only posted an OBP of .267.
Meanwhile, Boys Ranch came up short against Sanford-Fritch on Friday, falling 15-1. The Roughriders haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Boys Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sunray, their record is now 7-3.
Boys Ranch's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sunray hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .497. It's a different story for Boys Ranch, though, as they've only averaged .176. Will they be able to contain Sunray's hitters?
Sunray got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Boys Ranch by a conclusive 21-0 score. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Roughriders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
