South River is 8-2 against Annapolis since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Seahawks are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, South River got the win against Meade by a conclusive 8-1.
Luke Decker was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Schreier, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
South River hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meade struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Annapolis posted their closest victory since March 30th on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northeast, sneaking past 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Will Meyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Meyer was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Goulet, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Annapolis' record is now 6-8. As for South River, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.
South River was able to grind out a solid win over Annapolis in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Seahawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
