The Palm Desert Aztecs will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Serrano Diamondbacks at 2:00 p.m. on December 26th. Palm Desert has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 212 points over their last three matches.
Last Thursday, Palm Desert was able to grind out a solid win over La Quinta, taking the game 63-50. Given Palm Desert's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while La Quinta is ranked 1099th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Palm Desert got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jecorey Jones out in front who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kamrynn Nathan, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Serrano took a serious blow against Valley Christian on Thursday, falling 68-40. Serrano has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Palm Desert has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Serrano, they bumped their record down to 6-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
