If the Greeneview Rams were riding high off their 56-31 takedown of the Madison Plains Golden Eagles last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Greeneview fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 38-36. The match was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but Greeneview couldn't quite close it out.
Mia LeMay was her usual excellent self, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks for Triad. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Overfield, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Greeneview's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7. As for Triad, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greeneview's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Irish at 12:45 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Triad, they will face off against the Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. West Liberty-Salem presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cardinals in Ohio (the Tigers are ranked 141st, while the Cardinals are ranked 614th).
