La Cueva barely beat Santa Fe the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears blew past the Demons 12-1 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 12 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Alyssa Hunt spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Eardley, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hailey Silva, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: La Cueva kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Rio Rancho faced Piedra Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Rams walked away with a 9-6 win over the Panthers.
La Cueva's record now sits at 15-7. As for Rio Rancho, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
La Cueva came out on top in a nail-biter against Rio Rancho in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 14-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
