The West Mecklenburg Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Palisades 67-18. West Mecklenburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-9.
Palisades was led to victory by Tynilla Simpkins and Jala Jones. Simpkins dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Jones scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Brooklyn Young was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six assists and two steals.
West Mecklenburg dropped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.3 points per game. As for Palisades, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Mecklenburg will stay at home for another game and welcome Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Chambers is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Palisades, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Berry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
