North Sequoia recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in North Sequoia this week, Liberty beat Corcoran 35-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Hawks.
Chowchilla moved up to 550 from 677 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Redskins climbed the ranks as a result of besting Dos Palos 41-13.
Joey Woolsey threw for 224 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 13-34 with 2 interceptions.
Troy Uphoff was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 141 yards on 9 carries as Chowchilla topped the Panthers. Teammate Anthony Stewart added to the ground attack by rushing for 23 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Woolsey of Yosemite is the league leader in passing yards this season with 725. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jordan. The Liberty star has 14 catches for 325 yards.
Washington Union took down Hoover 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
