After flying high against the Creede Miners last Saturday, the Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers came back down to earth. Cripple Creek-Victor took a serious blow against Pikes Peak Christian on Tuesday, falling 74-26. Cripple Creek-Victor was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-16.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luciano Varas, who scored 11 points. Tony Woods was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Eddie Harmon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pikes Peak Christian, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Harmon hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Sachsenmaier, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Cripple Creek-Victor's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Pikes Peak Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Cripple Creek-Victor will head out on the road to take on Kiowa at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pikes Peak Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hanover at 8:00 p.m.
