Chapin has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Chapin is ranked 126th, while the Silver Foxes are ranked 115th).
Last Friday, Chapin was the victim of a tough 72-51 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. Chapin has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Chapin might have lost, but man, Cayman Collins was a machine: he scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Bradford, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Dutch Fork can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They snuck past White Knoll with a 40-34 win. The victory was just what Dutch Fork needed coming off of a 76-34 loss in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Jayden Walker, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caleb Garner, who scored eight points.
Chapin's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Dutch Fork, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13.
Friday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Chapin have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 39.7% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Dutch Fork struggles in that department as they've made 38.9% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Chapin was able to grind out a solid victory over the Silver Foxes when the teams last played back in January, winning 58-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chapin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
