Florence came out on top against Ellicott on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Huskies put the hurt on the Thunderhawks with a sharp 11-3 victory. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Kam Popovich was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ayden Jennings was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Florence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Florence's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4. As for Ellicott, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1.

Florence didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-8 defeat against Custer County on the 16th. As for Ellicott, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-14 victory against Mitchell on the 15th.
