Freeway recap November 5, 2013
La Habra added to the longest winning streak in Freeway this week by beating Sonora, 56-13. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
The Raiders fell to La Habra 56-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Ahmad Redeemer threw for 326 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 18-30 with 2 interceptions.
Redeemer and Deven Boston gave Buena Park a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. De'Quan Brown also contributed to the rushing game with 35 yards on the ground.
Fullerton's SCOTT LLOYD and JAMES HUBBARD led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback LLOYD has thrown for 1,744 yards this season, while HUBBARD has 38 catches for 788 yards. Boston from the Coyotes leads the league in rushing with 1,965 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place La Habra takes on second place Buena Park. Frank Mazzotta's team bested Sonora last week, while Buena Park defeated the Indians.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Fullerton's HUBBARD goes up against Troy's Dominic Vaccher.
Two of the top units in Freeway will face off this week when Anthony White's team takes on the Highlanders. The Coyotes' offense has scored 345 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while La Habra has allowed only 144 on the year.
Next week's game between Gus Martinez/Ed De Avila's team and the Warriors will feature an aerial matchup as LLOYD tests his arm against Vaccher's defensive ability.
