The Rosman Tigers and the Erwin Warriors will face off at 3:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Rosman pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-60 to Mount Tabor. While losing is never fun, Rosman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Mount Tabor is ranked 83rd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alissa Cheek, who scored 18 points. She scored a full 30% of Rosman's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lexi Powell (sykes), who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Erwin's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were beaten by Cherokee 78-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Erwin has scored all season.
Rosman's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Erwin, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
