The Roxana Shells will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Paris Tigers at 3:00 p.m. Roxana has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 389 points over their last eight matches.
Roxana can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They breezed by Marquette Catholic on the road to the tune of 52-14. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-0.
Roxana's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Wells, who rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns. Wells was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Another player making a difference was Andruw Ellis, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
Roxana's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Keylon Caruthers and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Paris unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 35-20 bruising from Casey-Westfield.
Roxana's win was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.78 points. As for Paris, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
