The Alliance Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 65-44 walloping at the hands of Dundy County-Stratton. Alliance found out winning isn't easy when you make five fewer threes than your opponent.
When it comes to explaining why Alliance lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tristen Timbers. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. Espen Lanik was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Dundy County-Stratton was led to victory by Jackson Kerchal and Lane Bybee. Kerchal almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds, while Bybee went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bybee has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lane Brown, who scored six points.
Alliance has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Dundy County-Stratton, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Alliance won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lexington at 4:00 p.m. on February 10th. Hopefully Alliance focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
