Lincoln Christian dropped their record down to 9-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 10-7 to the Central City/Centura Kernels. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Crusaders, who until this game were averaging 3.57 runs allowed.

Eilam Bryson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Drew Mittan, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Central City/Centura, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 17-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.2 runs this season.

On Central City/Centura's side, Jakob Ruhl was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Barrett Fries, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln Christian is set to take on their familiar foe Fort Calhoun at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Pioneers a seven-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, Central City/Centura will challenge rival Adams Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Kernels 2.5, the Patriots 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
