The Culver Academies Eagles will challenge the South Central Satellites at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Culver Academies took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Marquette Catholic 12-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Blazers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Thomas Oliver-Overmyer looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Elliot Dorrel was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Cawley, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Culver Academies always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Central). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Tri-Township a 13-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Satellites with their most commanding win of the season.
Jackson Arnett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Arnett was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Howard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Carson Rinker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Culver Academies' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for South Central, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Everything went Culver Academies' way against South Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Culver Academies made off with a 13-1 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Satellites turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
