The McKean Highlanders will head out on the road to take on the Delcastle Technical Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Delcastle Technical took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on McKean, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, McKean turned things around against Christiana on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Vikings. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Highlanders considering their one-run performance the game before.

Christian Bechstein made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Bechstein was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Esai Martinez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, McKean got a big performance out of Jey Oquendo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits Oquendo has posted since back in May of 2025. Brian Gonzales also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
McKean always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Delcastle Technical fell victim to MOT Charter and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 10-0. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
McKean's record now sits at 2-9. As for Delcastle Technical, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
McKean was able to grind out a solid win over Delcastle Technical in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
