Section 5 Genesee Region recap October 29, 2013
Alexander extended the longest winning streak in Section 5 Genesee Region this week by beating Notre Dame, 28-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Trojans.
Alexander was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in the league. Earlier in the week, Jack Rennolds' team triumphed over the Fighting Irish 28-0.
Attica's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jake Strzelec chipped in 175 yards.
Strzelec was a passing and rushing force as the Blue Devils lost to Wellsville.
Damian Marchetti and Strzelec gave Attica a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Marchetti threw for 9 yards and 1 touchdown, while Strzelec ran for 175 yards. Matt Perry also contributed to the rushing game with 27 yards on the ground.
Oakfield-Alabama's Allen Chatt and Nick Tambe led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-8 quarterback Chatt has thrown for 977 yards this season, while Tambe has 17 catches for 473 yards. Perry from Rob Cusmano's team leads the league in rushing with 945 yards.
Perry has rushed for 945 yards on 109 carries so far this year.
The Hornets took down Geneseo 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
