The Big Sandy Red Devils were the 60-51 winner over the West Carroll War Eagles when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. Big Sandy was outmatched by West Carroll on the road and fell 58-27. Big Sandy was down 48-25 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bailey Berry, who scored 13 points. That was a full 48.1% of Big Sandy's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylyn Jackson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Big Sandy's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for West Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Big Sandy will head out on the road to face off against McKenzie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McKenzie will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Big Sandy surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Carroll, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Middleton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Middleton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Carroll in Tennessee (Middleton is ranked 133rd, while West Carroll is ranked 371st).
