There's no place like home for the Wiggins Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They strolled past Prairie with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 43-25. That's another feather in the cap for Wiggins, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kennedy Kerr was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Hunt, who scored six points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Prairie saw an underclassman step up: Hannah Kugler dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Kugler is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played.
Wiggins' victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wiggins and Y will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wiggins is facing Y at the right time seeing as Y is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Prairie, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Caliche at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Prairie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 39 on Saturday.
