Albemarle School waltzed into Friday's match with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ocracoke 55-6 on the road. Albemarle School might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 24 points or more this season.
Madelyn Delosreyes was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 10 steals. Delosreyes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyne Brewer, who scored 8 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, First Flight took their match at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 63-22 victory over Cape Hatteras. With First Flight ahead 34-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Aubrey Phanton was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josephine Voight, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Albemarle School's win bumped their season record to 5-1 while Ocracoke's defeat dropped theirs to 0-5.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Albemarle School have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 31% of their threes per game.
