Ashley Ridge suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 36-28 loss to Cane Bay. Ashley Ridge had been ranked 20th, but fell to 60 following the defeat.
Bluffton extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region VIII this week by beating Hilton Head, 80-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Bobcats.
Bluffton's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. C.J. Frazier threw for 209 and six touchdowns and Gerald Robinson had 128 yards receiving. On the ground Tykeem Major chipped in 96 yards. Demetrius Smalls helped Bluffton's passing attack out by catching three balls for 83 yards.
Bluffton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bobcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Frazier has thrown for 1189 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, while Smalls has 22 catches for 410 yards. Major leads the league in rushing with 236 yards.
Fort Dorchester was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Fort Dorchester 32-28. The Patriots came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 33 last week.
