After losing to the Ravenna Ravens the last time they met, the Coventry Comets decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went Coventry's way against Ravenna on Tuesday as Coventry made off with a 51-31 win. Given Coventry's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Ravenna is ranked 456th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Coventry was led to victory by Reggie Edwards and Jaden Keenan. Edwards dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Keenan scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Futrell, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Coventry is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Ravenna, they bumped their record down to 3-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coventry will take on Field at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ravenna, they will head out on the road to face off against Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Springfield is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
