Charles J. Colgan is a perfect 10-0 against Gar-Field since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Sharks will take on the Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Charles J. Colgan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Charles J. Colgan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Forest Park 12-3 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won six in a row.
Dorsey Grose spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jordyn Hern and Kayli Lamboy did most of the damage at the plate: Hern scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Lamboy scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, Lamboy posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Alecia McCray also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Charles J. Colgan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Gar-Field brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-22 win over Justice on Wednesday. Considering the Red Wolves' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
The team relied heavily on Zuneya Chapman, who scored five runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-7. The team also got some help courtesy of Giselle Arias, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
Charles J. Colgan picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Gar-Field, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Gar-Field's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Charles J. Colgan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. It's a different story for Gar-Field, though, as they've only averaged .222. Will they be able to contain Charles J. Colgan's hitters?
