The Hamilton Southeastern Royals will head out on the road to take on the Fishers Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamilton Southeastern will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Hamilton Southeastern had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Lawrence North on Thursday. The Royals never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The Royals not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 10-3).
Carly McCall made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McCall was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases.
McCall wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Natavia Wright, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Chloe Smith also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Thursday. Fishers blew past Yorktown 6-0. Fishers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past Kate Murray, who gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Yorktown off the board. Murray has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adrianne Cook, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Clayton, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Hamilton Southeastern is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fishers, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
Hamilton Southeastern skirted past Fishers 1-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
