After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pine View, Kanab was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 16-4 margin over the Wayne Badgers. With that victory, the Cowboys brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Taityn Spute made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Tessa Veater was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gracie Jensen, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Kanab always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Kanab's win bumped their record up to 2-4.
