The Lakewood Gators pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 85-61 loss at the hands of Crestwood. Lakewood has struggled against the Knights recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Lakewood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cedric Cisse. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Cisse hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Kameron Brown was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Lakewood has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Crestwood, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 23-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakewood will take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Darlington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Gators in South Carolina (the Falcons are ranked 33rd, while the Gators are ranked 160th). As for Crestwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Camden knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Knights like a good challenge.
