The Royal Oak Ravens will take on the Berkley Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Royal Oak is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Monday just wasn't the day for Royal Oak's offense. They came up short against Romeo on Monday, falling 8-0. The Ravens have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Berkley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cranbrook Kingswood on Monday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Cranes. Considering the Bears' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Noah Curtis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Dylan Field was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Sermo, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Berkley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cranbrook Kingswood only managed seven hits.
Berkley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Royal Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Royal Oak has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Berkley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Royal Oak couldn't quite get it done against Berkley when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Will the Ravens have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
