The Lafayette Christian Cougars won the last time they faced the Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS, and things went their way on Monday too. Lafayette Christian managed a 54-49 victory over Trinity Christian School of Griffin. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lafayette Christian.
Carmen Bridges was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Lafayette Christian's points. Reagan Bryant was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Trinity Christian School of Griffin still got an impressive performance from Chloe Thompson, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Thompson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of McKinleigh Norwood, who scored eight points along with seven assists and four steals.
Even though they lost, Trinity Christian School of Griffin were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Lafayette Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Trinity Christian School of Griffin, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Strong Rock Christian at 4:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Trinity Christian School of Griffin, they will head out on the road to face off against Flint River Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Flint River Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Monday.
