Two dominant guards in Baron Walker and Maguire Mitchell are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Noblesville Millers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Zionsville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Zionsville is hoping to do what Muncie Central couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Noblesville's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Noblesville took their matchup with ease, bagging a 63-23 victory over Muncie Central. The contest marked the Millers' most dominant win of the season so far.
Justin Curry II and Walker were among the main playmakers for Noblesville as the former went 9 for 19 on his way to 23 points in addition to five boards and three steals and the latter made all 7 shots he took to post 20 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Curry II has scored at least a third of Noblesville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of T.J. Davidson, who posted seven points.
Noblesville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Zionsville's good fortune finally ran out last Saturday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 77-68 defeat to Plainfield.
Noblesville will need focus on slowing down Drew Snively, one of several Zionsville players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 of 13 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds. That's the most rebounds Snively has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds.

Friday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Noblesville has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 37.5% of their three-pointers per game. However, it's not like Zionsville struggles in that department as they've drained 40.8% of their three-pointers this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Noblesville strolled past Zionsville when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 67-49. Does Noblesville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Zionsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
