On Friday, Richard Wright Public Charter School was the victim of a rough 49-27 loss at the hands of Manassas Park. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Richard Wright Public Charter School came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 23rd in District of Columbia, while Manassas Park is ranked 339th in Virginia).
Daniel Cuthbertson was on fire for Manassas Park: he rushed for 445 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per carry. Cuthbertson's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.
Richard Wright Public Charter School has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season. As for Manassas Park, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.
Richard Wright Public Charter School will head out on the road to face off against Maret at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Maret knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Richard Wright Public Charter School likes a good challenge. Manassas Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
