The Lamar Silver Foxes's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They secured a 47-42 W over Johnsonville. For Lamar, this counts as revenge for the 63-37 defeat Johnsonville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Lamar can attribute much of their success to NyShaun "Shaun" Quillen, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Quillen has scored at least 25% of Lamar's points. Nygel Eaddy was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Lamar's win bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Johnsonville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Hemingway at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Hemingway is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Johnsonville, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Green Sea Floyds at 7:45 p.m.
