Reed City has gone a perfect 3-0 against Mason County Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Coyotes will look to defend their home field against the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Tuesday, Reed City made easy work of Lake City and carried off a 16-5 victory. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mason County Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Pentwater with a sharp 17-2 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Spartans have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Aubrey Chye was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Chye was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last eight matches.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Bendele, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted over her last eight contests. Madi Sherretz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Mason County Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Mason County Central moved to 9-16 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Reed City, their victory bumped their record up to 8-19.
