AAA District 9 recap September 17, 2013
Mount Juliet fell to Blackman 42-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Station Camp made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 668 from 786. The advance stemmed from a 39-22 victory over Antioch last week.
Gallatin's dynamic duo of Claly Carnes and Dedarius Redding proved tough for Stewarts Creek to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Carnes threw for 191 yards and Redding had 97 yards receiving. Elias Hacket helped Gallatin's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 47 yards.
The Green Wave's dynamic duo of Carnes and Redding proved to be unstoppable against Stewarts Creek, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Nick Burrow made the biggest impact on defense this week as Gallatin topped David Martin's team. The 5-foot-8 senior.
Dorian Carter was a beast in the backfield as Beech beat Independence.
Redding was the best receiver in AAA District 9 this week as Mark Williams' team beat Stewarts Creek.
Carter was a passing and rushing force as the Buccaneers defeated the Eagles.
Carnes put up the best numbers through the air as the Green Wave bested Stewarts Creek.
Carter was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 310 yards on 54 carries as Beech bested Stewarts Creek. Parker Henry also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
The Green Wave's Carnes and Redding have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Carnes has thrown for 506 yards this season, while Redding has 10 catches for 198 yards. David Edmonds' team's Carter leads the league in rushing yards with 750.
Two of the top units in AAA District 9 will face off this week when Gallatin takes on Hendersonville. The Green Wave's offense has scored 153 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Commandos have allowed only 62 on the year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Gallatin takes on Hendersonville. As it stands, the Green Wave are in fourth, while Bruce Hatfield's team is in first.
Gallatin led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Stewarts Creek. Carnes ran for 44 yards in the win.
