Carter Jaeger Drops League-Best Effort on Friday
Starting off the list is Sterling's Carter Jaeger, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Jaeger made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. We rated that as his best effort of the season, edging out his previous best set last Friday.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Sterling, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Jaeger and Sterling will take on Arvada at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Marcello Rossi's Big Game Leads Weld Central over Arvada
Marcello Rossi continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his third-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 126 rushing yards. He rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Unfortunately for Arvada, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Rossi. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Rossi saw the Bulldogs), he rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 66 receiving yards.

Jace Cornelius Makes It Two for Weld Central
The second Weld Central player making an appearance here is Jace Cornelius, and for good reason. He threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown.
On the year, Cornelius has thrown those 3 touchdowns while averaging 56.4 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 35 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 60.6 rushing yards.
