While Cambridge's victory against Centennial wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears had just enough and edged out the Knights 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since August 19th.
Cambridge took Centennial into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-16, 18-25, 25-11, 15-10.
Blessed Trinity not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 15th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Centennial with a sharp 3-0 victory.
The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-6, 25-20.
Cambridge better keep an eye on Ruby McDermott. She was instrumental in Blessed Trinity's win, getting 13 digs and three aces. That's the most aces McDermott has posted over her last ten contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Woodward, who had seven digs and one assist.
Blessed Trinity was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only served five.
Cambridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-19. As for Blessed Trinity, their record now sits at 31-10.
Cambridge might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Blessed Trinity in their previous matchup back in August. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of McDermott, who had 14 digs and three aces. Now that the Bears know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time?
