Make it four blowout wins for the Life Prep Fire this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Frontenac 71-36 on the road. The victory was just what Life Prep needed coming off of a 58-37 loss in their prior match.
Life Prep can attribute much of their success to Yarek "Determine" Russell, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Russell has scored all season. Michael Munnings was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Life Prep's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Frontenac, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Life Prep on the road again on Friday and play against Webb City at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Webb City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Life Prep likes a good challenge. As for Frontenac, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Mary's-Colgan on Tuesday. St. Mary's-Colgan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Frontenac in Kansas (St. Mary's-Colgan is ranked 103rd, while Frontenac is ranked 237th).
