The Owen Warhorses will head out on the road to challenge NCSSM: Morganton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Owen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully the like a good challenge.
Owen was handed a two-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Tigers on Friday. Owen blew past the Tigers 79-46 on the road.
Owen found their leader in underclassman Asante Martin, who scored 19 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Jack Wesley Burk, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, NCSSM: Morganton suffered a rough 72-48 defeat at the hands of the Mountaineers on Friday.
Owen's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for NCSSM: Morganton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Owen skirted past the 63-61 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was NCSSM: Morganton's Lawson Taylor, who scored 30 points.
