The Hurricane Tigers are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Springville Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on November 30th. Springville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hurricane, who comes in off a win.
Two weeks ago, Hurricane earned a 39-29 win over Jordan. The win was just what Hurricane needed coming off of a 67-44 defeat in their prior match.
Hurricane got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Crandall out in front who scored 15 points along with 5 steals. Abbigail Stout was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Springville had to settle for a 41-39 defeat against Cyprus last Tuesday.
Despite their defeat, Springville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brynn Johnson, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwen Fales, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Hurricane now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Springville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Hurricane have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Springville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
