Softball Recap: Hermiston Has No Trouble Against University

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hermiston walked away with it. They put the hurt on the University Titans with a sharp 10-4 win on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Piper Roberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Karsyn Botefuhr was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Emerick, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.

Hermiston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory snapped Hermiston's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-12 record. As for University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-7.

As of now, neither Hermiston nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
