Jayden Barr Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Eastside's Jayden Barr, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Barr made six total tackles and defended a pass. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.2 rushing touchdowns per game. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles and defending a pass.
The defeat snapped Eastside's winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 7-1 record. Barr and Eastside will face off against East Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Brock Szakacs Leads East Forsyth over Walnut Grove
East Forsyth was led to victory by Brock Szakacs, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Szakacs threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 81 yards on only six carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 57 yards.
Szakacs and East Forsyth will head out on the road to square off against Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Szakacs will face off against Payton Shaw, the Eagles' star signal caller. The second Eastside player making an appearance here is Myles Mims, and for good reason. He rushed for 110 yards on only nine carries.

Eastside came up short on Friday despite Bailey Benson delivering his best game to date. Benson wasn't messing around, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles. The matchup was his third straight with eight or more total tackles dating back to last season.
On the year, Benson has averaged 6.2 total tackles per game and for the season has 2 sacks. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one sack.
