Grayson County scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Wilkes Cardinals.

Grayson County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maverik Goad, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Goad is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mac Goad, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points.

Grayson County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for East Wilkes, they moved to 5-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Grayson County will host Alleghany at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Wilkes, they will take on Forbush at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. East Wilkes is facing Forbush at the right time seeing as Forbush is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
