West Valley is a perfect 10-0 against East Valley since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will host the Knights at 2:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
West Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let North Central get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
East Valley never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against North Central on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Wolfpack with a sharp 10-3 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Knights' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Kayden Alban was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Alban was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That hit marked the first that he has got this season.
In other pitching news, East Valley got a great performance from Theran Darden as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.
Back at the plate, Kyler Goll was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. East Valley is 2-1 when Goll posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Bergman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
East Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.
West Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for East Valley, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5.
Everything went West Valley's way against East Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as West Valley made off with a 16-1 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
